Guided tours must have at least 15 people. Tour starts at 10:00 A.M. and again at 11:30 A.M.
Lunch starts at 11:30 A.M. $7 includes vegetarian lunch, tour and museum. $2 for tour and museum only.

Bus: It is possible to get a free city bus through a City Councilman's office. See Transportation link on web site.

ADD-ON a stop to San Gabriel Square. This is a modern Asian shopping mall located at 100 W. Valley Blvd, on the southwest corner of the intersection of Valley Blvd. and Del Mar Blvd, in the town of San Gabriel. There are many stores. The market looks like any other until you inspect the goods inside. Check out the fruits (including Jackfruit and Durian) and vegetables, the spices, the live fish tanks. Pay attention to the people all around you. If you don't know or recognize a vegetable, ask a person who has it in his cart how to cook it. People are very friendly. The free city bus is willing to stop there but you must put it in your travel plan.
Directions from Hsi Lai Temple to San Gabriel Square: Go north on Hacienda Blvd. to the Pomona Freeway (aka "the 60"). Go west on the Pomona Freeway to off-ramp for Rosemead Blvd, aka Highway 39. Take Rosemead Blvd, north about 2 miles to the San Bernardino Freeway (aka "the 10"). Get on the San Bernardino Freeway westbound and pay attention to the off-ramps because the Del mar off -ramp is coming up very soon. Get off at Del Mar and go north for a few short blocks. The shopping mall is on your left, on the corner of Del Mar and Valley Blvd.
